Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.

Happy Trails to You!!

Wow, where does my time go? I seem to forget to get on here and share with you all what is going on in our beautiful lives.

We got Reegan picked up from horse camp. No need to tell you that she had a blast and had a hard time saying good bye to her horse cloud. They did a skit and a show with the horses. We also had a pot luck with the other families of other campers. Her grandma and grandpa came with us. She is now set on buying a horse and finding a place to board it.

We are in a heat wave right now, summer is in full force. We have spent a lot of time at the pool, and Quincy has become quite good at going off the diving boards. He decided to give it a try on a Friday and by Saturday he was flipping front and back off the low board and by Monday he was front flipping off the high dive.

We had family reunion weekend last weekend. The Happel family reunion in Waverly on Saturday and the Long reunion and Lake McBride on Sunday. After the Happel reunion we spent some time at the pool in Waverly which is where Quincy started the back flips.

Mackenzie and Carter are still working in the corn fields de tasseling. They have had some shorter days during the high heat. Carter got his first paycheck last Saturday and he was thrilled. Let me assure you that he makes more in the corn then he does in allowance.

Mackenzie and Brandon went to the Jason Aldean concert last night in Monticello and are going to Lady Antebellum tonight. We got her tickets to the Lade A concert for Christmas and she got Brandon tickets to last night's concert for his birthday.

Yesterday we drove to Lake Rathbun and met some friends and their children for the afternoon. Dean had work to do in Albia on the way down. We got there around 4. It is a beautiful lake and resort and it was fantastic to see everyone. The kids had an amazing time and I drove a jet ski for the first time. I have to say, that was a BLAST!! We got home after midnight and it was a short night, but well worth it.

I have fallen in love with green smoothies, although they are not always green. Here are a few combos I have thrown in my blender and enjoyed. Kale, spinach, frozen mixed berries, frozen blue berries, juice, flax seed, oats. Another has mango, pineapple, kale, romaine lettuce, bok choy, banana, orange juice. Today was frozen mixed berries, fresh blue berries, spinach, romaine lettuce, pomegranate & blue berry juice, strawberries with the tops still on. These give a tremendous amount of energy, and as you can tell are full of great foods.
