Impromptu School

Last night Dean, myself, and some of our children and even a neighbor child were working on the new patio. We were placing broken granite pieces upside down. I picked one up and said; "wow this looks like Illinois." That is all it took, the children went in and got a map of the USA and started searching for all the states. They really found a lot of broken granite pieces that looked like states. Too bad we could not have thought to make a section look like the USA we could have done geography each time we sat out there.

    I love this! Natural learning at its best! It would be a great idea to make the USA map out of the granite pieces--great thought. Some of my best thoughts also come in hindsight ;)
