Psalm 127:3-5

Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.

Reegan Marie Happel

Here is Reegan, the newest Happel state wrestling champion! Reegan wrestled the USGWA (United States Girls Wrestling Association) IA State Wrestling Meet this last Sunday. GO GIRL!! She won the thing! She had 4 girls in her bracket. She pinned 2 and won 6-0 against the other. Now to be honest, I really thought this was going to be an event I would be able to make fun of. I left with a whole new appreciation for what these girls are trying to do. I have never liked girls wrestling boys. However, girls wrestling girls is ok, and the USA puts together two women's national teams and two Olympic teams in freestyle and greco. Why not star to promote the sport on the youth level. Start? I was surprised to find out this event is in it's 10th year. It is also all over the country. There is even girls wrestling in some colleges. I am very proud of her. She was really sore the next day. I was telling Dean, think how good she might be if we actually let her wrestle. Dean will only let her drill and only with the other girl in the club at Lisbon. We are going to try and grow this around here as well. Maybe get some more girls involved. I keep teasing the boys that she has put some pressure on them. Cael and Carter have USA State this Saturday at the Dome in Cedar Falls.
All three boys won the last regular season tourney of the year Saturday. Nice way to end the year. Now it is tourney time, and the national duals in TN. This season flew by. Quincy is done for the year, Cael will finish up on Saturday, and Carter - well Carter will probably be done in May. He likes to do freestyle and greco roman wrestling as well. Crazy kid, seriously as the season comes to a close he gets more and more into it. Most kids are getting tired and are ready to be done, but he gains steam, I love it!! This mom will be a ball of nerves until the duals in TN are over.
Cade will be 2 on the 18th. I swear he is already 2 going on 3. He can get himself mostly dressed!! And make no mistake, he has no trouble getting undressed!!
Mackenzie keeps her first chair trombone! She was real concerned she had messed up big time during her try-outs. I understand it was close but she pulled it out. Great job Mackenzie.
Cade got some play-doh from Uncle Ryan, I do not think he and Addy have done much more then play with it. They love it. I think 5 of the children were playing with it at one time today.
Kyler has forgotten how to sleep again, time to reteach him. Any suggestions?

  1. Wouldn't just be teeth or a growth spurt, would it? Hopefully he'll remember soon!
