What's been going on with the Happel family?
Dean stays busy at work and coaching the youth wrestling, which includes Cael, Quincy, and Cade.
Mackenzie finished on the Dean's list this last semester and is on track to graduate in May. She was in a bridal fashion show and just returned from a trip to New Jersey to hang out with a friend and see the sites, including New York City.
Carter is in the thick of his freshman year of wrestling. He is 120lbs and currently 29-0. He is ranked 2nd in the state in 1A at his weight. He has done very well in school this year, and I am happy to see his success in the classroom as well as the mat.
Reegan is not involved in any sports right now, she'll start club volleyball next month. She stays busy with lots of 12 year old girl things like shopping, dancing, and friends.
Cael has been wrestling and has made tremendous strides in his reading. He is taking a class a the home school right now, dissecting owl pellets and cray fish. These are the bones of a rodent that was eaten by an owl. Cael dissected the pellet, sorted the bones out, and built the skeleton.
Quincy is also wrestling, and improving by leaps and bounds with his reading and writing. He is taking a class on birds and made a bird feeder. Both boys are also studying Leonardo DiVinci. Cael and Quincy are taking a trip with two teammates to WI this weekend and Dubuque to do some skiing.
Addy, is my sweetest little helper, she just has a knack for knowing what needs done and when. She was my shopping helper this morning. She and Jaycie now share a room.
Cade is in his first year of wrestling and has done two tournaments where they let the kids wrestle for 3 minutes no matter who pins who. He's had a blast and I laughed so hard, I cried the first time he went out.
Kyler.........well he's Kyler. He's is own guy, and there is never a dull moment with him around.
Jaycie is getting way too big and she is truly the little princess in this house. Her older siblings are most attentive to her.
I stay busy trying to keep up with it all, and have spent a lot of time in bleachers the last few months. We took a nice break over Christmas from our formal schooling and we are all back at it refreshed. We are using the Laura Ingalls Wilder series right now as our curriculum (not including math and LA). We are having a blast with this, and I hope to post some pictures of what we have been doing.
