Psalm 127:3-5

Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.

Day 7 & 8

Day 7 - THE BEACH!

We took the kids to Folly Beach on Tuesday. WOW - there really is no way to describe seeing the ocean for the first time through your kids eyes. The weather was perfect and the water just slightly cold but no one cared. Cade and Kyler were running in and back out with the waves. Everyone had a blast. The only downfall was out poor white IA skin was no match for the SC sun. Despite applying sun screen a few times some of us were a bit fried!!

We took off for Atlanta and had yet one more unfortunate GPS incident. That would be thinking we could make up time by driving shortest distance vs fastest route. Not quite possible with a two lane highway and we ended up losing about an hour and a half of time.

We got to Atlanta and did some laundry and went to bed.

In the morning we went to Centennial Olympic Park and walked around there, it was really neat to do, and again, the weather was almost perfect. We then went to this awesome drive up hot dog place called The Varsity.

On the road again we went until we got to Huntsville, AL where I again had a GPS incident and put the wrong address in where we were to meet Gene. We were in one of the roughest areas on Huntsville and Gene said stay right there and he would come and get us. He got us to the hotel and we met his other two children for dinner last night. They had no idea we would be there and it was quite the surprise. It was evident he was very happy for what he said may be the only time we would all be together.

Today we are going to spend a bit of time with Gene and Cindy and then head to Nashville. The girls are hoping we spy a budding country music star!
