Psalm 127:3-5

Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.

Day 5&6

Day 5 was filled with excitement! The boys finished up the tournament as National Champs as their team won the National title. Beating the OH Grapplers 39-34. Both boys finished the weekend 8-1 and All American Silver Medalists. I am proud and amazed - these two were warriors. The competition if tough. Carter wrestled down there for 3 years, he went unbeaten only once. Lost 2 & 3 times the other years. More then he did in IA in that three year time frame. That I am using as a point of reference. Both boys were beaten by kids who went unbeaten on the weekend.

We took off for Charleston, SC at around 5, we finally arrived at our hotel at midnight. Oh my!! A longer trip then we had anticipated and a wrong address put into the GPS and we ended up at someone's house. I am real sure they were not expecting 11 people for the night.

Today, Day 6, we went to Boone Hall Plantation. Talk about amazing!! I am not sure there is a textbook around that could teach us all we learned today. There is something to be said about experiencing history, walking the same grounds, touching the same things, walking in the actual slave quarters. Listening to the guides and running into fisherman. We had a guy on our tour of the plantation who is my nominee for man of the day. This was a simple man, who knew a lot about what he needed to know. He was so knowledgeable and at the same time used the word ain't quite often. He told us he was wearing 3 layers because he is cold - we were in shorts. He was a unique man, and it was evident he was right where he wanted to be.

Took 8 of our kids to reach around this tree on the plantation.

On the way back to the hotel we had another GPS issue. This time a dead battery. Dean was pretty sure he could get us back but nope, we ended up crossing this amazing bridge, seeing lots of ships, and topping it off with seeing a naval air craft carrier. Man that baby was big!
Tomorrow we will see the ocean and then head to Atlanta!
