Christmas cookies at the History Center

The Lisbon History Center had a Christmas cookie decoration and Christmas cartoon watching event on Saturday. It was tons of fun! One might think a small town like Lisbon would not have much to offer with its History Center, but that is quite wrong. This is a facinating place to visit. My kids really enjoy themselves there. They enjoy playing in the little school area and looking at all the exhibits.

First we went to Reegan's game - she scored 12 points!!

Reegan and Mackenzie were gone all day Friday while Reegan tried out for the play, Excalibur. She got a call back and yesterday found out that she got a part with 14 lines!! Super exciting!! Mackenzie will help with this play like she did last year with the elementary play.

Carter finished up junior high wrestling with an 18-0 record. He also made it to every practice which put him in what they call the guts club. He and 4 teammates went to a University of Iowa wrestling practice today and out for supper with a former Lisbon and U of I wrestler, who I know Carter really looks up to.

Cael and Quincy will be hitting the wrestling mats on Sunday for their first tourney of the year.

Cade was asking us this week to call him Wes, the name of the Red Power Ranger. He continues to beat up all sorts of imaginary bad guys. He also has to "power up" prior to making the beat down.

Addy, having seen the little boy on A Christmas Story stick his tongue on the flag pole decided to give it a try herself, only by using a golf club. Same result and she was sitting on a chair with a wad of toilet paper sticking out of her mouth. Lesson learned there.

Kyler has been talking a ton lately! Amazing how much they change when they are 2. He is still a walking disaster, but he is getting so much fun. He will sit and visit and I love how he says my name.

Jaycie just attempted to pull herself to standing on the couch. What the? That can stop!!

I turned 42 yesterday. It was not all that bad. In fact, I got some very nice gifts; a lovely candle, a t shirt I have been wanting for over a year, and peppemint lotion, body spray, body wash, and lip gloss. I used it today in the shower and after. I quickly became a walking candy cane. Oh and my sister made me a "moist cake".

Dean is coaching kids wrestling and that keeps him very busy. He also tweaked his back a bit last week, I have been giving him gently reminders that we are not young anymore.
