Psalm 127:3-5

Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.

93

My grandmother turned 93 yesterday. I have not seen her in a year and a half - and yes that is not very good on my part. I knew it was her birthday because Janice reminded me. Looked at the calendar and then had to make a decision. I had $29 left in my budget for the week and a quarter tank of gas. Also out of eggs, cereal, syrup, and low on many other items.

I decided to put $25 in the gas tank, grabbed 8 of the $5 McDonalds gift cert books that were given to the kids by Dean's grandma and took off.

If you can believe this, that much in the gas tank worked it got me there and back, the gift certs covered our lunch, and God is so good. I had packed some snacks which did us for the way home. In the process of driving down there I got to race a crop duster - that plane did not stand a chance. On the way home I got to drive through a torrential rain storm like none I ever have before.

It was a good trip and I am glad I decided to take it. Other then Kyler, this kids behaved themselves very well too. I was a bit worried about what 2 hours in the van and then visiting in a small house and 2 hours back home might do to them, but they were great and Kyler will be 2 in 2 weeks - that explains a lot.
