Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.

Adventures in Reading

Tonight I was reading to Addy, Cade, and Kyler. Addy had a nice pile of books for me to read, starting with "Froggy Learns to Swim". There was repeated use of the word toot, which made Addy laugh each time because she told me that is what comes out of your butt. About third in the pile was "Grovers Guide to Good Manners" I am wondering if we should have started with that one?!?

Addy is one who often has something come out of her mouth that is not quite right, or you hope no one else hears, or she has me belly laughing. Last night she was mad at Mackenzie for something and called her poop on a stick. So of course there needs to be a talking to by mom to Addy, but first I must get all belly laughs out. At the lunch table there was the retelling of the poop on a stick story and that got Quincy in the mood for somehow making a demonstration that involved looking like he was eating a lolli-pop while singing about poop on a stick. I am thinking most of my children got my warped sense of humor.

Shopping day tomorrow!! I will let you know if I find any good deals.
