Psalm 127:3-5

Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.

Sunday afternoon in a gym

After Sunday School we drove to Van Horne IA, and spent the rest of the afternoon in a gym. Most fun I might add. Carter and Cael wrestled in a freestyle tournament. They both came out as champs, and looked good doing it. Carter then was able to wrestle an exhibition greco match. What was cool about this is that I was going all over the gym asking if anyone would do a match with him in greco. After 4 tries I finally found one. This boy had never done greco, but was willing to give it a try - two thumbs up to this boy!! Although Carter won the first two periods, which ends the match, they wrestled a third for fun and learning.

I am still amazed at how well the children behave in a gym. Addy took her normal wrestling nap, with her blanket and an open spot in the bleachers. Cade ran around and played, as did Quincy, and Cael, and Reegan. Cael who was a last minute decision to wrestle, then plays the rest of the day with the kid he wrestled. This is the cool part about wrestling. Although it is one of the parts Carter does not like and that is wrestling his friends. Mackenzie said to me after we got home how nice it was to be back in a gym - we must be a warped family!! We were all happy to be there. Weird. We are considering doing regionals and nationals in freestyle, but are not 100% sure yet. Would take us into the summer which we have not done before. Also would piggy back on baseball. That is a lot of showers (words spoken by Carter once).

DQ was the next stop on the day, which excites the masses, all but me. I am really not a fan of ice cream, but I did eat my token kiddie cone. Then the real treat - popcorn when we got home!

  1. Hey Dawn! Do you have any recent pics of the kiddos? I'd love to see them if you don't mind posting them.
