Sleeping

I am sure there are homes where people go to bed and do not wake up until the next morning. We do not live in one of these houses. I am ok with this, it will not last forever, and it can come with some humor as it did last night.

Cade is a horrible sleeper, as far as sleeping all night without waking up, and he is 2. He is also the loudest child I have ever had. This is a huge award to have considering I have 8 children with the last name of Happel. Happels are loud, I always say they do not know how to walk or whisper. Anyway, Dean is the one who usually gets up to settle Cade back into his bed. Last night he decided that Cade could figure it out for himself. So at 3:30 the drama began. He began to yell for his juice, and to get out. At one point, I was really impressed because he said a 3 word sentence!! Such a mom I am.

Add to this, Addy, who loves to talk in her sleep. When we were on vacation we had a girl's room + Kyler, and a boys room. Addy talks all night long, and not in whispers, but in a regular voice and about many things. A quick list of her vacation sleep talks were about money, how old everyone was, who was chasing her, and for people to give her back her things. I cannot tell if she is remembering things from the day, dreaming, or making up things.

Last night when Cade was yelling for juice, Addy begins to talk about juice. This made me the mom who at 3:45 am who is giggling in her bed. Kyler who was sleeping in the room with Cade, never woke up. Addy who was in another room must have heard him in order to make that her topic of discussion while she slept. Carter, Cael, Quincy, and Reegan were in the room with Addy, I did not hear anything from them. Mackenzie may have heard him, I will have to check with her later.
